Foxy Labels is a Google Docs & Sheets add‑on for designing and mail‑merging Avery‑compatible labels.
The app rides on top of Google Workspace’s 3 billion‑strong user base, giving it an enormous, low‑friction distribution channel. It had over 1 million installs at the time of acquisition. Small businesses, churches, and schools use Foxy Labels often to mail letters.
I know what you’re thinking: people really still mail letters? U.S. mail volume is indeed shrinking, and that poses a gradual risk to the business. But we think there is a strong niche of people and institutions that value the charm and aesthetic feel of sending physical cards.
Second, as we learned with ChartBase, there is always platform risk when developing extensions and add-ons. If Google Workspace decides to support labels natively or the marketplace search algorithm changes, it could disrupt the business.
There are thousands of different types of labels and we are expanding support to capture more users. We’ll double‑down on SEO for mail merge and label keywords. We also want to make it easier to insert images and QR codes for e-commerce.
